Accessibility Statement

We build this site to be usable by everyone, and we target the WCAG 2.1 AA standard across it. Accessibility is part of how the site is built, not a layer added at the end.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That standard covers contrast, keyboard operation, text alternatives, and predictable, understandable behavior.

What we build in

  • Semantic HTML with proper landmarks and one main heading per page, so screen readers can navigate the structure.
  • Full keyboard operation, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive control and a working skip-to-content link.
  • Interactive components, such as the situations tablist and the calculators, built with correct roles and keyboard support.
  • Color contrast that meets AA on the dark background.
  • Respect for the reduced-motion setting: when you ask your system to reduce motion, animations and auto-advancing content do not run, and everything renders in its final, readable state.
  • No content that depends on motion, color, or a mouse alone to be understood or operated.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a one-time pass. We test with automated tools and by keyboard as the site changes, and we fix issues as we find them. Some third-party content, such as linked news articles on other sites, is outside our control.

Report a problem

If you hit a barrier on this site, tell us and we will fix it. Email info@wearejde.com with the page and what went wrong, and we will respond and work to resolve it. Your feedback is the fastest way for us to catch what testing misses.
